Parks designated as National River

The National Wild and Scenic Rivers System is a program established by the U.S. Congress in 1968 to preserve and protect rivers with exceptional natural, cultural, and recreational values. The program aims to ensure that certain rivers in the United States remain free-flowing and undeveloped for future generations.

There are 5 parks designated as National River:

• Big South Fork National River in Kentucky
• Big South Fork National River in Tennessee
• Buffalo National River in Arkansas
• Mississippi National River in Minnesota
• Ozark National River in Missouri
